Spectacular dancing, a beautiful score by Sergei Prokiev, a generous dose of humor and a treasured fairy tale all combine to make the Springfield Ballet Company's production of Cinderella a can't-miss event.

Cinderella, sponsored by HSHS St. John's Children's Hospital, showcases the talent and diversity of the Springfield Ballet Company members and also features some amazing professional guest artists, local dancers and actors.

"Cinderella is perfect for children. It's a beautiful story with a happily-ever-after ending but adults will also love the humor and the romantic story," says Julie Ratz, SBC Artistic Director.

All tickets include free pre-show activities hosted by Springfield Youth Performance Group (SYPG) and a post-performance meet and greet with Cinderella. Reserve your seats today!

The SBC is proud to host a Girl Scouts Workshop for Daisy Girl Scouts, Brownie Girl Scouts and Junior Girl Scouts troops in the Central Illinois Council. Through an interactive movement class and by attending a live dance performance in a professional theater, Brownie Girl Scouts will *earn the Brownie Dancer Badge, and Daisy Girl Scouts and Junior Girl Scouts can earn a dance fun patch. *Badges and patches can be purchased at the Trefoil Boutique. All participants will also receive a Springfield Ballet Company patch to add to their collection!

This unique program brings the scouts ON STAGE at Sangamon Auditorium prior to our production of Cinderella and introduces them to variety of dance styles. Using a hands-on format, Artistic Director Julie Ratz, Ballet Mistress Gina DeCroix Russell, and current SBC dancers teach scouts the basic movement elements of ballet. They also discuss costuming, dancer training, performance preparation, terminology, history and the technical elements of a dance performance. The interactive workshop explores the dynamics of dance from line and design, to rhythm, musicality, emotion, story line and pantomime. Scouts also learn about appropriate audience behavior and what to expect when they attend our live performance!
