COVID Reminders

Children can be infected with the virus that causes COVID-19, can get sick, and can spread the virus to others. Child care, though, provides crucial support for parents and guardians, and provides many benefits for a child’s social and early learning development. CDC and VDH continue to recommend children aged two years and older wear masks while indoors in child care settings.

We would like to remind everyone that the latest COVID-19 guidance for child care can be found on the Virginia Department of Health website Child Care & Camps - Coronavirus.

Giant Foods Community Bag Program

Here's a chance to support non-profits, do something good for the enrironment and save on the disposable plastic bag tax!

For the month of January 2022, we will receive a $1 donation from each purchase of the $2.50 reusable Community Bag at the Giant Food store located at 6011 Burke Centre Parkway in Burke, VA.

Emergency Closing Policy

The ITFDC office and family child care homes will be CLOSED when the Federal Government is CLOSED for the full/entire day to the public due to inclement weather or other emergencies.

The ITFDC office and family child care homes will OPEN on time if the Federal Government has a delayed opening.

The ITFDC office and family child care homes will not close early if the Federal Government is closing early for the day.

When an individual jurisdiction closes, i.e. Fairfax County, Arlington County, Falls Church City etc., our office and day care homes will remain open.

All closures will be posted on the web site and on our Facebook page.
