Quest Sermon Series
Whether you travel far away or see your local surroundings as if for the first time, pilgrimage has long been a spiritual practice, and “journey” a deeply-felt metaphor for our spiritual lives. “Quest” comes from the Latin root meaning “ask, seek.” This four week worship series will encourage us to open ourselves more fully to the curiosity and wonder, reflection and transformation that travelers–not merely tourists–experience when they choose to immerse themselves in soul-widening adventures.

October 10 - Leaving Home

October 17 - The Encounter

October 24 - The Reflection

October 31 - Returning Home

Jesus often crossed paths with others not from his “tribe.” He did not shy away. Actually, he most often sought out these opportunities. He met people in their daily lives and locales, such as the Samaritan woman at the well and her community, and engaged with them at the point of their deepest yearning. When we seek out and open to new encounters, new people, new relationships, we allow ourselves a spiritual rendezvous with humanity. And in this act, we discover more spiritual depth within us than we previously imagined. How can we shift our perception, redefining “strangers” as “friends we have not yet met?”
9:30AM - Worship in the Sanctuary
11:00 AM - Online Worship

UPDATED PROTOCOLS FOR ONSITE WORSHIP:

The Board of Directors met last week and revisited the protocols that have been in place for safety in the face of COVID-19. We looked at the local statistics and noted the decrease in cases, hospitalizations, and deaths. This was welcomed good news and we remain hopeful that we are headed toward better days around the virus.

While we are optimistic, we also want to remain cautious and phase into looser restrictions, so unanimously decided that for now, the protocols we have had in place will largely remain in place with a couple of exceptions:

  • We will resume using green stickers, along with yellow and red.

  • Green - Will Accept Hugs
  • Yellow - Will Elbow Bump
  • Red - Will Wave From 6 Feet

  • The pastor will resume greeting people at the end of the service.

We will continue to:

  • Use individual communion cups
  • Wear masks
  • Have no food after service
  • Keep our congregating indoors to an hour or so

The board will continue to watch the trends and as long as they move in the right direction, will lessen restrictions along the way.

The board wishes to thank all of you for your patience and cooperation in erring on the side of caution.
