Stuff the Bus for Lincoln County

Stuff the Bus for Lincoln County has officially kicked off, and you can help support local children in need by donating at any of our 30+ donation sites or via the Amazon wish list, volunteering at Sort Day, or volunteering at the back-to-school shopping events! Lincoln County Community Night with Gastonia Ghost Peppers

Head out to the ballgame on Thursday, August 6 for Lincoln County Community Night with the Gastonia Ghost Peppers! The Ghost Peppers will face off against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs and it's sure to be a great game!

Lincoln County Community Collective

Join United Way of Lincoln County for our first Lincoln County Community Collective meeting on 8/25/26 at 9:00 AM!

This event is perfect for nonprofit directors and board members, as well as resource and faith leaders who are looking to learn more about local resources and take advantage of opportunities to grow and connect!

This meeting will focus on serving the community through a collective impact model. It will be held at the James W. Warren Citizen Center, and a light breakfast will be provided.

Data & Impact from June

In June 2026, there were over 140 calls to 211 for Lincoln County and more than 70 into our office, all from individuals looking for resources. Nearly half of these calls were from individuals looking for housing or shelter assistance.

Board Member Spotlight: Kelley Miles

Due to her incredible dedication to our community and United Way of Lincoln County, July's board member spotlight is Kelley Miles.

Kelley has lived in Lincolnton her entire life and she has devoted her career to Lincoln County. She graduated from Western Carolina with a degree in Criminal Justice and works at the Department of Social Services. She began as an Employment Social Worker and then transitioned into Children Services. She has been the Deputy Director at DSS since 2022.

Outside of work, Kelley has served on the UWLC board since 2023 where she has done outstanding work on the Events Committee and the Allocations Committee! She always shows up ready to help, and we're grateful to have her support!
