Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), the defacto leader of the Democratic Party.

WE'RE BACK!  The University City Trumpet has been on hiatus during the Matt Wolfe campaign for City Council at Large.  Unfortunately that race was not successful.  That being said, the effort to bring honest government to Philadelphia to improve the quality of life for our citizens goes on.  

IMPORTANT RECEPTION:  The most important meeting of the year will be Tuesday, January 28.  Our candidates are the public face of our party.  In order to get them on the ballot we need to get registered Republicans to sign nomination petitions.  There is a three week window of time to do that.  That starts on Tuesday.

We need as many Republicans as possible to join with us on January 28 to sign nomination petitions. We only have three weeks to do this and cannot start until that day. If we can get off to a good start we will have an idea of what we need to do to finish the process.   Petitions for President Trump will be available.  Please come to help his efforts.

Come anytime that evening, from 6PM until late. Sign petitions to help Republicans get on the ballot. Hang around for refreshments and fellowship, or leave. NO SPEECHES!

SPECIAL ELECTION:  On Tuesday, February 25 there will be a special election for State Representative in West Philadelphia's 190th legislative district.  This is because the Democratic State Representative was convicted of stealing about half a million dollars from a non-profit.  THIS IS LESS THAN A YEAR SINCE THE LAST SPECIAL ELECTION IN THE SAME DISTRICT CALLED WHEN THE PREVIOUS DEMOCRATIC STATE REPRESENTATIVE WAS CONVICTED OF PUBLIC CORRUPTION.  Sorry for shouting.  Our Republican candidate is Wanda Logan.  She needs your help.  She has been a community activist for years and is well known in the district.  Let us know what you can do and try and take off the day of the election to help.

SLAP ON THE WRIST:  Speaking of the special election, the former state representative got basically three months in prison for stealing half a million dollars.  Ridiculous.  

MAIL-IN BALLOTS:  Big change in Pennsylvania law.  Anyone can now vote by mail or on paper in advance of the election by stopping into City Hall at the Board of Elections.  We will get back to you with more information, but you can learn more at the Department of State website.  The application is not ready yet, but you will be able to apply online or download a paper application. Likewise the ballots are not ready yet, but when they are you can vote at City Hall.  Stay tuned.
REGISTER REPUBLICAN:  It's never too late to register Republican.  If you need to register Republican, change your registration to Republican or change your address or any information on your voter registration, you can do it online at this site:   REGISTER REPUBLICAN .  If you want to do the same on the Democratic side, go to this site:   REGISTER DEMOCRATIC .
