Holiday Tips

This time of year is filled with holiday cheer! As we celebrate, it’s important to keep our friends and family members with disabilities in mind. The holiday season brings lots of fun but may also offer certain challenges.

As a community, we want to do our best to make sure everyone feels safe, comfortable and enjoys the festivities. For both children and adults with disabilities, a little bit of planning and empathy can go a long way!

SOAR365 is grateful for the RVA Rogue Runners, a local running group that generously supports SOAR365’s mission to provide life fulfilling opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Led by Chuck McBride and Clint Kelly, a SOAR365 Board member, 66 Rogue Runners have contributed $14,000 since 2021. “Over the years, not only have wonderful RVA Rouge Runners friendships been formed, but also a shared desire to have a positive impact in our community by supporting SOAR365,” said Clint Kelly.

SOAR365 is honored to partner with them and 12 On Your Side to support this amazing cause. In fact, Santa and Mrs. Clause stopped by the Adult Day Support program at Staples Mill to help spread the word!

Supervisor, Adult Day & Youth Services Programs

Supervise and manage the operations and staff of Adult Day Support and Youth Services at our Saunders location.

Camp Activity Leader, Summer Camp

Provide specialized programming and instruction to campers enrolled in the seasonal camp programs at SOAR365. You will be responsible for developing lesson plans and related activities, guiding counselors in the implementation of the plans with campers.

Supported Employment Specialist / Sign Language Interpreter

Provide supported employment help to persons with disabilities who are referred to the Supported Employment Team at SOAR365. You will be responsible for coordinating and implementing employment supports and facilitating communication between hearing and people who are deaf or hard of hearing.
