Greater Southeast Management District , also branded as Houston Southeast is requesting proposals to select qualified firms or individuals to develop and execute initiatives relating to commercial retail, office and industrial development, including strategic business development. The intended goals are to attract sustainable commercial real estate development, evaluate and provide workable remedies to advance existing economic capacity, forecast viability of new business opportunities, and support overall strategic business development within Houston Southeast.

Houston Southeast is comprised of seven (7) distinct areas: Historic Third Ward, MacGregor, Museum Park, Hermann Park, Texas Medical Center, Universities and OST/Palm Center.

Houston is in line to receive a $320,000 federal grant to evaluate a flood protection strategy that involves building deep underground tunnels to move storm water to the city's ship channel.

"The study is basically to look at our ground conditions, including our groundwater table, and compare that to existing technology in the tunnel industry to see if there's a match," said Russ Poppe, the flood control district's executive director. "If that's true, then we can start looking at costs, routes and opportunities we can potentially pursue."

DISTRICT D CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS TOWN HALL MEETING
February 28, 2019
District D Annual CIP Town Hall Meeting will take place from 6:30 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, February 28, 2019, at Greater Grace Outreach Church, located at 10800 Scott Street, Houston, TX, 77021.
 
This is an opportunity to learn all about exciting projects in our district, including significant road, drainage and infrastructure improvements. Representatives from departments across the city will also be on hand to answer questions.

Join the  City of Houston Department of Neighborhoods (DON)  at the City of Houston: Spring Community Meetings to provide input on big projects in your community.  Mayor Sylvester Turner , city council members, and city officials will visit each council district so neighbors can ask questions and learn about city resources.
