October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month! While disability in the workforce is something SOAR365 focuses on all year long, we’re glad for this important topic to get even more attention this month. Check out this one minute video of Jim Quigg, our VP of Business Solutions, on FOX Richmond’s Connect RVA segment talking about NDEAM!
 
Whether it’s hiring people with disabilities for our janitorial, groundskeeping, or administrative contracts or helping people with disabilities find jobs in the community, SOAR365 is always looking for new ways to support employees with disabilities.

Our new vision includes our mission, values, Big Hairy Audacious Goal and our envisioned future – the things that help direct us, because we’re always thinking about our strategy and where we’re headed. As we come out of the pandemic, it is a perfect opportunity to reset our solid foundation. 
 
You may have already noticed some new banners and posters in each of our four locations. And over the next few months on social media, we’ll be sharing stories about the people in SOAR365 who bring these values to life. 
Calling All Young Professionals
SOAR365’s Next Generation Council (NGC) is looking for people between the ages of 21 to 45 who want to get involved and support SOAR365’s mission. The NGC meets every other month. Members work on fundraising initiatives and service projects, all while developing leadership skills and gaining experience in the non-profit board operations. 
 
Interested? Join us for an NGC social on Thursday, October 26 at 5:30 p.m. at Brambly Park.

PARK365 is a great place for parties and gatherings – lots of space, accessible equipment for all and easy parking! You can reserve the patio tables or pavilion tables.

We love our Direct Service Professionals (DSPs) every day, but it’s especially fun to celebrate and recognize their amazing work during National DSP Appreciation Week, which was September 11 – 16. The festive theme for the week was superheroes … which couldn’t be more true! Our DSPs bring positive energy, heartfelt caring, genuine enthusiasm, and an unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of our program participants.
