MLK Day of Service at SOAR365: A Day of Unity and Impact
In January, SOAR365 hosted its annual MLK Day of Service, bringing together over 40 dedicated volunteers. This special day, rooted in the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., was a celebration of service, inclusion and unity.
Volunteers laid mulch throughout PARK365, a beloved outdoor space designed for kids and adults of all ages, with and without disabilities. This family-friendly activity was the perfect opportunity to respond to Dr. King's call to foster community and equality.
Katherine O'Donnell and her son (pictured bottom right) were two of the volunteers who joined us. "Giving back to PARK365 on Martin Luther King Day of Service was an incredibly gratifying experience for my son, Henry, and me. This playground holds a special place in our hearts as a space where he grew up playing and creating cherished memories," said Katherine. "Watching him work so hard and seeing the pride he took in contributing was deeply moving. It was even more meaningful when he invited a friend who shared those memories to join us. Together, we pushed wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow of mulch, knowing we were helping to ensure this amazing park continues to bring joy to families and children of all abilities for years to come."
SOAR365 is grateful for the energy and enthusiasm of our volunteers who made the day a success. Together, we honored Dr. King’s legacy by demonstrating that service has the power to unite us. It’s a powerful reminder of the impact we can have when we come together for a common purpose.
Thank you to all our volunteers for making a difference at PARK365 and beyond. Your efforts ensure that this vital community space continues to thrive as a beacon of joy and inclusivity for everyone!
