The Update: Volunteering | SOAR365

Team from MR. FIX-IT

MR. FIX-IT Pulls (Weeds) Together at PARK365!

A motivated group of volunteers from MR. FIX-IT, the home improvement contractor, joined us in February to spruce up PARK365. The team of about a dozen pitched in to keep the grounds looking good and prepare the park for spring. This is the second year MR. FIX-IT volunteers have joined in this effort, and SOAR365 is grateful for their dedication!

"Every time I set foot on the ground at SOAR365, it makes my heart so full! It is so rewarding to partner with an organization that provides so much for those with disabilities, and their team is so warm and welcoming!" said Marlin Solano, a team member from MR. FIX-IT.

Building the SOAR365 Photo Archive for Future Generations

Volunteer James Dudley has been working on archiving SOAR365’s history by preserving photography. His ongoing efforts to scan and digitize photos of events and activities dating back to the 1960s will also help SOAR365 commemorate important milestones in our history.

“I am scanning photos for SOAR365 because they want to digitize them on their network so they can be preserved for future generations,” said James.

Volunteers Give the Love Back to SOAR365!

We really felt the love this Valentine's Day season! SOAR365 is especially thankful to these two special groups of volunteers for spreading joy to our participants.

The Heartstrings Women's Ensemble (above right), led by Jayne Ukrop, carried on a long tradition of service at our Staples Mill location with their annual Valentine's-themed musical performance. Twenty-five community volunteers joined us to sing and dance, complete with costumes and interactive fun!

The Human Resources team from Atlantic Union Bank (below right) delivered a message of love to the program participants at Saunders. The group handmade adorable, personalized Valentine's Cards and visited us to pass one out to each of our participants!
