Dear Ursuline Community,
People often comment that school seems to begin earlier every year. I’ve had that thought too, but for me, once we’re into August, the ruckus in the hallways can’t begin soon enough! In just days, the Freshmen are finding their way and our returning students are showing them a very warm welcome.
This past year marked the completion of our 2023-25 Strategic Plan, Guiding Our Legacy. The plan was created with the participation of the Board of Trustees, parents, coworkers, and alumnae with survey feedback provided by the broader Ursuline Academy community. The focus of the discussion was to assure a thriving school community with growing enrollment. At that time, which was the 2021/22 academic year, our total student population was 317 at mid-year.
The committee established a goal of 400 for the total student population to be achieved by 2025, and I’m thrilled to tell you that we are beginning this year with 408 Bears!
Our entire community has helped to make this happen: students and parents who enthusiastically share their UA stories on the sidelines and in grocery stores, an incredibly creative and hardworking admissions team, teachers who create meaningful classroom experiences for shadow visitors, coaches known in the community for their passion and abilities, alumnae who “encourage” their daughters to continue the legacy and also serve as our eyes and ears in the community, and every coworker who creates a positive experience for our students and families at all events, all year long.
There are so many other factors that I could list but really, most of all, it is the highly engaged, spirit-filled, joyful, achieving, learning, growing, welcoming young women who embody the Ursuline sisterhood today who have made it happen. They represent us all so beautifully. I'm both proud and grateful.
I look forward to all that the 2025/26 year will bring and hope to see you on campus!
Sincerely,
