Friday, October 3, 2025 - T2-Pre-K Early Dismissal + Parent-Teacher Conferences

• T2-Pre-K students will be dismissed early at 10:45 a.m. on this day for Parent-Teacher Conferences beginning at 11:30 a.m. Carpool will start at 10:40 a.m. Students must be picked up by 11 a.m.

Friday, October 3, 2025 - K-7th Grade Early Dismissal + Parent-Teacher Conferences

• K-7th-grade students will be dismissed early at 11 a.m. on this day for Parent-Teacher Conferences. Carpool will start at 11 a.m. Students must be picked up by 11:30 a.m.
• For K-3rd-grade students, conferences will take place in the teacher’s classroom. Each classroom teacher sent a sign-up form via email. Please contact your homeroom teacher if you have any questions.
• For 4th-7th-grade students, Conferences are available from 12:30-4 p.m. in St. Ursula Hall. You may enter through the St. Ursula door on State Street. There is a determined number of slots for parents in each grade within each half-hour window. 

Friday, October 3, 2025 - High School Early Dismissal

• Please note that High School students will be dismissed at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025, for High School Parent-Teacher Conferences from 2-4 p.m. Students must be off campus by 2:30 p.m.
• High School parents are welcome to attend Parent-Teacher Conferences and meet with teachers. There is no sign-up necessary. Conferences will take place in the Wellness Center gym, and parents may enter through the State St. Wellness Center entrance near the softball field.

There will be no aftercare on Friday, October 3, 2025.

• Wednesday, October 8 - Junior Varsity and Varsity Volleyball vs. AOL, starting at 4:30 p.m. in the Ourso Gym

We need your help with the required federal paperwork to keep the extra services that benefit all our students. This anonymous survey takes two minutes. 

Please complete one survey per child by October 24, 2025. This routine documentation helps us maintain valuable services that strengthen education for every student.

We are excited to once again be able to offer preparation classes for second-grade students to receive their First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion at the National Votive Shrine of Our Lady of Prompt Succor. Preparation classes will be taught by Sarah Gunn and Christy Zurcher weekly after school in the Spring Semester. First Reconciliation will be on Saturday, February 28. First Communion will be on Sunday, April 26. If you would like your daughter in second grade to be prepared and receive her sacraments here, please complete the form linked below.

The deadline to register for sacraments is Friday, October 10.

The Work Study Job sign-up is now open for the period from September 2 - November 21. To sign up for a job, please visit the link here. Pre-K-7th Grade Hearing & Vision Screenings on Tuesday, October 28

On Tuesday, October 28, hearing and vision screenings will be offered for Pre-K through 7th-grade students. Homeroom teachers will disperse hard copies of permission forms to the students. The form can also be found here. Please note that only those who have signed permission slips will be screened. Those who have their permission forms signed need to bring any eyeglasses, contacts, and hearing aids at the time of the testing.

Please return the signed consent form to Mrs. Nettles by Thursday, October 23.

High School Counseling

By now, seniors should have finalized their college list, including reach, target, and likely schools; registered for any final ACT exams if necessary; completed drafting their college essays; and begun working with their families on the FAFSA, which opened on September 26.

Barberito Photographers will be on campus Monday, October 6, from 9-11 a.m. to take school pictures of our littlest lions in the Nursery and Toddler 1 Lily House. Please have your child at school by 9 a.m. so they are ready for pictures and to help the morning run smoothly. Toddler 1 students should wear a uniform shirt for their pictures.

Travel with UA to Spain!

Attention Class of 2027 and 2028, we're ready to take flight! UA is partnering with the educational tour company Forum by Prométour for an incredible itinerary that will take us through the sights of the capital city, Madrid, as well as the highlights of the Andalusia region. Along the way, we'll be visiting museums, cathedrals and castles, tasting regional foods, and practicing our Spanish skills with our bilingual tour director.

This trip will take place from June 1-9, 2026, and is currently open only to the classes of 2027 and 2028. You do not need to be enrolled in Spanish classes in order to participate (although it's an amazing opportunity to put your Spanish skills into practice if you are!) We would love to see you all at our informational meeting for parents and students on Monday, October 6, at 5:30 p.m. in St. Ursula Hall. Please contact Chiara Azzaretti if you have questions or if you are not able to attend the meeting and would like more information!

On Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Tulane's Girls in STEM at Tulane (GiST) program provides 5th-7th-grade students the opportunity to meet and work with undergraduate, graduate, faculty, and professional role models in STEM fields. The cost is $10, and students will be provided with a t-shirt and snacks when they arrive. Lunch will also be served. If you have questions regarding this event, please email k12stem@tulane.edu.

SWE is bringing its annual half-day student program, Invent It. Build It. (IIBI) — to New Orleans on Saturday, October 25, from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, 900 Convention Center Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70130. If you have questions regarding this event, please email outreach@swe.org.

Parents, families, alumnae, and friends of Ursuline: get your general admission wristband for the 78th Rally on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. in the Ourso Gym! Wristband presale will end on Wednesday, October 15. Wristbands can be purchased at the door or during lunch on the day of the Rally for students.

General Admission - Parents/Families/Alumnae/Guests Wristband: $30

This wristband is required for admission to Rally 2025 for parents, families, alumnae, guests, and any Ursuline students in 3rd grade and below being checked out to enjoy the Rally fun! This wristband includes three pull tags that can be used for all specialty food/snack options - jambalaya, “Mac” and cheese, and snoballs - sold during intermission, and allows for unlimited drinks, chips, and candy!

4th-12th Grade Students and Faculty/Staff Wristband: $15

Students in grades 4 - 12 and faculty/staff DO NOT need to pay to enter Rally 2025, but can purchase a wristband for all specialty food/snack options - jambalaya, “Mac” and cheese, and snoballs - sold during intermission. In addition, the wristband will allow for unlimited drinks, chips, and candy! Faculty and staff, please select the "student" option at checkout.

Ursuline Academy is proud and excited to once again host our annual Bach Contest on Saturday, March 21, 2026. The Ursuline Academy Bach Contest, founded in 1960 by Sr. Elizabeth Marie Landry, OSU, began with piano and now includes a strings division, and is open to all students in the greater New Orleans area.

Registration for the 2026 Bach Contest is now open and due by Saturday, February 28, 2026.

Each week, a designated student will take home an 11" resin statue of Our Lady of Prompt Succor along with an intention card. Each intention card will be collected and remembered in prayer by our community. Students will be able to keep Our Lady in their home from Friday through Tuesday, returning her to school on Wednesday.
