From the Bishop

What does success look like for us?

Bishop Hughes discusses how, as followers of Jesus Christ, our success as individuals and as congregations is not measured in secular terms, but by fulfilling our mission to share God's love, mercy, and justice. (Time: 5:05 | Read the transcript.)

Diocesan Announcements

New diocesan website and logo launching next week

By this time next week, the Diocese of Newark expects to launch a brand-new website plus a new version of the diocesan logo.

The image below shows what visitors will first see when they visit the new site. It is a complete redesign developed using WordPress. This work has been quietly underway for months

In the top left corner, you can see the new diocesan logo (a larger version is here). Like our current logo which has been in use since 2010, it is a rendering of the cross in our official diocesan shield and is taken from the streamlined diocesan seal introduced last June.

Like the streamlined seal, the new logo and the website style guide were developed by graphic designer Libby Clarke in collaboration with diocesan Director of Communications Nina Nicholson and other diocesan staff.

Because the launch might cause the diocesan website to be unavailable for a brief period, an email alert will go out before the launch begins.

Asset Map reminder: The new website will use the Episcopal Asset Map as its church directory, so church leaders are advised to make sure their church's Asset Map entry is up to date by next Monday, Oct. 7. Julie Crawford is overseeing this effort; if you have questions, please email her at asset-map@dioceseofnewark.org.
