Finding your own words in prayer
Bishop Hughes reflects on how simple, honest conversations with God can deepen our faith and help us grow more comfortable praying in our own voice.

Your generosity is already making a difference
By Cynthia McChesney
| | |
When Bishop Hughes invited congregations during this year's Confirmation season to support our Hispanic churches facing the extraordinary pressures of the current immigration crisis, Episcopalians across the diocese responded with remarkable generosity.
To date, the appeal has raised $37,942 to help these congregations continue their ministries to families experiencing fear, financial hardship, and uncertainty. These gifts will enable the churches themselves to determine where the need is greatest, helping them remain places of worship, welcome, and practical support for their communities.
Thank you to everyone who has already given. Your generosity is a powerful reminder that, as Bishop Hughes said, "None of us is flying solo." When one congregation faces hardship, the whole diocese comes alongside in prayer, encouragement, and tangible support.
If you have not yet had an opportunity to participate, the appeal remains open, and every gift will help strengthen these vital ministries. Together, we continue to live out the truth that God gives, we give—and in doing so, we care for one another as one Church.

Deadline extended! Join Bishop Hughes on a Pilgrimage to Iona – Spring 2027
MAY 29 - JUN 6, 2027
| | |
Experience the rich spiritual heritage of the sacred isle of Iona on a pilgrimage with Bishop Hughes. Revered as the birthplace of Scottish Christianity, Iona has welcomed pilgrims for more than 1,400 years, ever since St. Columba established a monastery there.
Pilgrims will have opportunities to explore the island, visit historic Iona Abbey, and, if they wish, participate in daily worship with the Iona Community. This is a unique opportunity for prayer, reflection, and fellowship in one of Christianity's most treasured holy places.
The deadline to book at the current rates has been extended to August 31, 2026. Click here to view the full itinerary, room options, and reservation information, and download the flyer and brochure to share with your parish.
