The Vanner Magazine 2020
The upcoming 2020 edition of The Vanner will be the 8
th year of this GVHS annual publication. Stay tuned for more information and a call for articles, advertisers and other submissions.
The focus of the 2020 edition will be
Gypsy Vanner STALLIONS.
As we move forward with the magazine, the GVHS wants to ensure that we strive to improve the quality of this publication. For 2020, the published criteria for acceptance of photos and articles will be more strictly enforced.
PHOTOS:
Owners wishing to showcase their horse's achievements in both the show and evaluation awards sections must provide photos of acceptable print resolution and portraying the horse to highlight the particular achievements. i.e. For a 5-Star evaluation award the horse in the photos should be depicted well-groomed and in a conformation shot with minimal background clutter, to showcase this significant award. High Point show awards are grouped together, showing a single photo for all achievements so there is a little more leeway in the discipline in the photo provided, however, the horse must be well groomed and appropriately tacked, representative of how they would look when presented in the show ring.
Ideally awards for Youth and Amateur competitors will depict the members with their horse, again attired and tacked up for the show ring.
All photos provided for all sections of the magazine MUST be
in focus,
relevant to the article or section, and at a resolution of
greater than 300dpi. If you are unsure if your photos meet these criteria, please submit them and we will let you know. Most shows now retain a professional photographer and we encourage you to purchase from them if your own photos are not of the same level of quality.
ADVERTISING:
2019 rates and guidelines will be maintained. As this is a stallion edition, we will be adding a GVHS Stallion Directory to showcase stallions in a common format at a set price per horse. More information on this section will be forthcoming.
