Executive Administrator- JOB POSTING
Early this year, longstanding GVHS staff member, Barb Snyder, notified the GVHS Board of her intention to retire from her role as Executive Director at the end of 2023. More to come about Barb in a later edition!
The Board is now seeking interested candidates to fill this role.
Position Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day administrative management of the GVHS under the direction of the President, and Board of Directors. To be successful the candidate must be committed to the success, growth and mission of the Gypsy Vanner Horse Society, and understand the workings of a business and a horse registry. The successful candidate will work to build relationships with members, owners, and affiliated industry professionals to help generate a positive image of the GVHS.
This position requires a person who has a strong business background and the ability to work independently and effectively from their home office, maintaining regular office hours for a minimum of 6 hours per day, five days per week. In addition, the candidate must be available for monthly Board meetings, usually held in the evenings, and for travel to select GVHS events such as the Annual Meeting. What is a Prefix ???
How do we use a prefix in a Gypsy Vanner Horse’s registered name?
If you are a farm owner/breeder/business of Gypsy Vanner Horses you can personalize your foals with your own prefix/farm name for your foal. Your prefix is a valuable tool for marketing your breeding program with your exclusive signature.
Example: Your farm name is "Happy Acres" and you want the registered name of your Gypsy Vanner foal to be “Lucky One”. Your foal will be registered “Happy Acres Lucky One”. Once your prefix is registered, you are the only one that can name your foals with the prefix “Happy Acres” This is a fabulous way to be exclusive with your Gypsy Vanner breeding program.
Register your exclusive PREFIX for your registrations in the Gypsy Vanner Horse Society
for $100 for lifetime use.
See Rules under Registration > Breeder Prefixes on the GVHS Website.
