IMPORTANT GVHS Year End Reminders

VANNER ADVANTAGE- NEW DEADLINE: GVHS members have until Dec 31, 2022 to submit their Vanner Advantage forms for 2022. Vanner Advantage (vanners.org)

SHOW POINTS REVIEW: Exhibitors have until Dec 31, 2022 to review and resolve any discrepancies in the show points recorded and posted by GVHS for 2022. Shows (vanners.org)

AWARDS CREDITS: GVHS members have until Dec 31, 2022 to claim their 2021 awards credits. On Jan 1 the balance will be moved to the GVHS youth fund.

WEBSITE Forms Updates

NOTE: Updates have been made to forms on the website for easier fill, save and email-ability. Also, mailing addresses on the forms are updated. When sending by mail, double check to be sure you are sending them to the correct location to avoid delay.

GVHS Executive Officers

GVHS Executive Officers are elected annually by the Board of Directors. If you would like to be considered for a position as President, Vice President, Secretary or Treasurer during 2023, please send your resume to gvhs@vanners.org no later than December 15th, 2022.

GVHS Board of Directors Election

There is one director seat expiring on December 31, 2022. The new term will serve January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2025. There are two nominees standing for election and their bios have been posted on the GVHS website here: BOD Nominees.

In order to facilitate voting in the GVHS Board of Directors election, the GVHS has once again implemented a secure and confidential solution for online voting through the online election platform, www.SimplyVoting.com

The online ballots are open for voting NOW. Ballots close at 4pm ET on December 14.

HOW DOES IT WORK? Once the election is open for voting, all eligible members will receive an email notice containing their Simply Voting unique USERNAME, PASSWORD and a link to the online election ballot. Email blast reminders will be sent periodically throughout the time period to members who have not yet voted.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO? If you have not received the emails with your voting information, first look to be sure you have a current General or Lifetime membership AND own a horse that is GVHS registered in your name. This qualifies you as a voting member. Check the latest MEMBERS list online to be sure the GVHS has your current email address. If not, please update by contacting the GVHS office. Review the nominee information available on the GVHS website prior to voting. During the election, if you have verified your eligibility and email and email and still do not receive the notices from Simply Voting contact the GVHS office for assistance.

The Vanner 2023

This year’s theme is The Gypsy Vanner: Family, Fun and Friendship. Where there is a Gypsy Vanner horse involved, you can be sure that family, friends, and Vanners, are all having FUN! In this edition we will feature stories of how Gypsy Vanner horses bring people together for special moments with family and cementing friendships, both old and new.

As with past years, the achievements of GVHS award winning members and horses will be featured in The Vanner.

Please review your photos from the past year and get ready to send in high resolution shots to best showcase your achievements! Photos will be needed early in the New Year.
