Elo V4 Locktask Mode Release
Beginning this week, we will begin our GA rollout of Locktask Mode for all of our Kiosk customers! 

Background
  • Toast Guardian is our Mobile Device Management (MDM) application that is included on all Toast devices running Android 8.1 and above.
  • LockTask Mode is the latest feature of Toast Guardian and provides a more restrictive launcher experience than the standard Android Launcher, which replaces EloView today and enables us to expand our Kiosk offering to more devices across Toast!

Toaster & Customer Impact
  • We will no longer have to take customers through the confusing steps of EloView with this new feature, saving you and your customer a lot of time!
  • This new launcher experience will prevent the user from accessing the Notification and Status bars, while also only providing access to the Toast POS application and its respective dependencies (ie. the browser).
  • Locktask Mode will also have the ability to navigate back to the standard launcher experience for device level troubleshooting, if a manager or employee needs to adjust something. 

Reminder! Google Drive
As you’ve heard, we will be eliminating the shared Google Drive folders on August 1, 2022. All our vendor specific one pager documents and guides will be refreshed and live on Breadbox in Vendor Resources under the Libraries tab. This Library in Breadbox will be an updated version of what you currently see in the shared Google Drives - a place to explore vendor specific information organized by categories and competencies. 
 
All of you have access to this brand new Vendor Resources Library in your Breadbox account, where we’ll continue dropping in applicable content and developing new resources to help you in your roles. Access by logging in to Breadbox, navigating to the menu bar and locating “Libraries”.
Get Familiar with xtraCHEF
xtraCHEF by Toast is an industry-leading accounts-payable automation integration with the Toast platform to fuel productivity and make more informed purchasing decisions. Food cost management reporting and analytics make it easy for operators to make sense of their books and shave percentage points off their prime costs. Rollout Continuing! Time-specific pricing for OO, TTO, Digital Menus and Toast Mobile Order & Pay
Time Specific Pricing will soon become functional for Toast Online Ordering, Toast Takeout, Toast Mobile Order & Pay, and digital menus!

This change will allow Toast users to set a special price for times of the day/day of the week. Their guests will see and be charged the price set if ordered during that time (previously, only the base price was charged, no matter if TSP was set on the item).

Update to Rental Car Options
As of last week, Avis and Budget will be available as direct bill rental car options in TripActions in addition to Enterprise, National, and Hertz.
 
Enterprise and National continue to remain the preferred companies to book rental cars through whenever available, however we are excited to expand the direct bill rental car offerings for the Vendor network!
Fisherman Integration: Now GA
As of July 8, Fisherman, a new website creation and management integration is GA in Toast Partner Connect!
 
About Fisherman
Fisherman provides Toast customers with an easy and quick branded website creation and management solution, pulling information internally from Toast (Menus, contact info, etc.) along with external customer Google and Facebook information. Custom websites enable Toast customers to show up in more web searches, growing their business and guest reach, and Fisherman's DIY agency level functionality saves Toast customer’s time and money.
 
Toaster Impact
Our internal teams and vendor partners will not have a big lift with Fisherman, but might field questions regarding Toast’s specific integration workflows, adding the Location ID into the Fisherman integration tile in Toastweb, and basic Fisherman use case/consulting. Please reach out to your OC if you have any questions.

Vendor Feedback: “Just wondering if we could create a specific breadbox channel for 3rd party integrations. I know there are a lot of them and some are popular in some areas but not in other areas. But could we have divided information maybe by category delivery, scheduling, reporting. Link important toast central links.” 

Answer: Yes! What a great idea. I’ve been working behind the scenes to build out a section for 3rd party integrations and your suggestion of breaking it up this way is really helpful! This content will be made available to you as soon as it’s ready (likely the next 4-6 weeks).
