A Letter from the VOA

Dear Fellow Venturers,

We hope that you and your families are all doing well during these difficult times that our world is facing. As the Cradle of Liberty Venturing Officers Association, we are here to serve all Venturers all the time. So in this update we want to share with you our plans for the remainder of the 2019-2020 Venturing term is going to play out.

As you may know, our VOA Weekend titled "Musser Mystery" was scheduled to take place at Camp Hart on May 8th-10th, a weekend full of fun and mystery for all Venturers to enjoy. Sadly, due to the quick spread of COVID-19, all district and council wide events in COL have been cancelled up until June 1st, requiring us to postpone the VOA weekend.
As a team we were deeply saddened when we heard the news due to the hard work and effort in making this weekend an event that Venturers will forever remember. We still want to give you an event to remember. As of right now, we do not have a new date for the event as we don't want to provide one that may need to be cancelled again. We will keep you updated with additional information in the upcoming months.
With our weekend being postponed until further notice, we don't want to leave you with nothing to do during this crazy time. The Cradle of Liberty VOA has a plan! We will be running a Mystery themed social media campaign the week leading up to what was supposed to have been the VOA weekend. The campaign will run from May 3rd through May 10th and will happen on both of our active social media platforms, Facebook and Instagram. Posts will be made on both platforms each day of the week. Each post will contain clues that will ultimately help you solve the week-long mystery. There will also be side activities which you can partake in, such as an online escape room and polls on our stories. Anyone is welcome to complete this week long challenge so make sure to share this with your friends and family so they may get in on the fun as well! More details about how this will all work will be posted shortly.

Another piece of business that needs to be discussed is the VOA Officer Applications for the upcoming 2020-2021 term. The elected positions are: President, Vice President of Administration, Vice President of Communication, and Vice President of Program. Other positions are available depending on need and interest that are appointed by the President. If you wish to participate and help plan activities or learn more about the VOA, you are welcome to participate as general member of the VOA. All crew presidents are automatically full voting members of the VOA.

If you are interested in being a part of the Cradle of Liberty VOA, in any way,
please fill out this form . Applications are due Friday May 22nd at 11:59 pm. Elections will happen on June 2nd either in person during our VOA Meeting or online through Zoom. Details on this will be posted when we know how the coronavirus is going to affect early June.

To close things out, this is a time we all need to stick together and help one another. We need to do what we can as scouts to serve our communities, especially those in need. So, reach out to friends, family, fellow scouts, and neighbors to make sure they are feeling good, keeping active and staying safe. Do this while ensuring all necessary precautions and safety guidelines are followed, of course.
Know that the VOA is here to support you. If you need our help in any way, whether that is with virtual meetings and activities or advancement, please do not hesitate to reach out to us via any of our social media platforms or by email at advisors@colvoa.org
. We want to make sure you make the most of your scouting experience especially during these difficult times.
Please remember to stay healthy and safe.

Yours in Scouting,
The 2019-2020 Cradle of Liberty Venturing Officers Association

VenturingFest 2020

VenturingFest 2020, the third national gathering of Venturers at the Summit Bechtel Reserve - a Scouting experience unlike any other before - is coming your way again from June 28 to July 3

VenturingFest 2020 is a special Scouting event at SBR that's open to registered Venturers, Scouts and adult leaders across the U.S. This six-day high-adventure festival invites participants to explore the best the SBR has to offer. We're talking rock climbing, skateboarding, BMX biking, water sports, shooting sports, zip lines, challenge courses, and so much more!

As if the adrenaline-pumping activities weren't enough, festival goers will also get to jam out to concerts and meet new friends in Venturing at the event. What more could a Venturer want?
