RIDE IN AN ANTIQUE FIRE TRUCK!

The Kingwood Fourth of July Parade begins at the corner of Feather Lakes and West Lake Houston Parkway
at 10am on July 4th and proceeds from Creekwood Middle School on Sandy Forks to Kingwood High School.
The parade will be lead by classic cars from the Kingwood Classic Cruisers Car Club.
Following the parade the Cruisers will be showing off their cars at The Veranda (2820 Chestnut Ridge).
A barbecue sandwich, chips, watermelon and unlimited iced tea, water and lemonade will be available for $10 from 11am until 1pm.
Featured will be an antique fire truck. Bring the family and go for a ride in this remarkable vehicle.
This event is a fundraiser to help cover the medical expenses for Ray Guard and family
(34 year residents of Kingwood and owners of The Veranda and Pat and Ray's Studio and The Forest Image).
Ray recently received a heart transplant, but suffered a stroke during the surgery.

Texas Gardening 101
On Monday July 15th at 6:30 p.m., Bob Robertson of Kingwood Garden Center will present
"Texas Gardening 101" at Kingwood Branch Library. Learn about the best gardening practices
for Texas climates all year round. This is a 45 minute presentation for gardening novices
followed by a 15 minute segment for questions and answers. This program is free and open to all ages.

Kings Harbor Announces its
First Fireworks Show

Kings Harbor, and Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Greene invite the community to enjoy a patriotic celebration at Kings Harbor on Friday, July 5 from 7-10 p.m. The evening kicks off with the rockabilly John Evans Band.The concert is free and guests are invited to bring chairs to enjoy the live music. Presenting sponsor, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Greene, will hold a Make a Soldier Smile care package donation drive for Blue Star Mothers, an organization for mothers who have children serving or who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Suggested donation items include; decks of cards, Frisbees, dominoes, puzzle books, beef jerky and bubble gum. The local Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Greene office, located at 18455 West Lake Houston Parkway, will serve as a donation drop-off beginning July 1. To cap off the celebration, guests will enjoy Kings Harbor's first-ever fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. that evening. The concerts take place the first and third Fridays every month from February through November, 7-10 PM. Each concert highlights a non-profit organization by holding fundraising raffles to support their causes.

Certified Professional Organizer and Family Manager Coach Ellen Delap was honored at the National Conference of the National Association of Professional Organizers with the 2013 Service to NAPO Award. This special award is presented to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to NAPO and the organizing industry.
President Angela Wallace shared this when honoring Ellen. "Ellen is a tireless volunteer who is an outstanding team player and knows how to lead AND how to follow. Fearless, she answers the call for help and is willing to do whatever needs to be done. Emotionally supportive of the team and a team cheerleader, she is thorough, realistic and wise." Ellen has served on the Education, Leadership, Social Media, Marketing and Conference Committees, served as Conference Chairperson 2008 and as President of the local chapter NAPO Houston. She received her Certified Professional Organizer status in 2007.
