Howdy Texan –

It's been a busy week back home in Texas' 31st district, so I wanted to provide you with an update.

ON THE DOCKET:

  • Staccato Firearms
  • Celebrating Local Business
  • What do you think?
  • Mayor's Prayer Breakfast

THE BRIEF:

  • A father whose 25-year-old son was killed by an illegal immigrant called the murder of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley a consequence of Democrats' border policies.
  • For nearly four hours on Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments in a pair of cases that challenge how far states can limit the content social media companies allow on their platforms.
  • After a series of well-publicized crimes allegedly committed by migrants, Mayor Eric Adams appeared to support a modification of laws that make New York a sanctuary city.

STACCATO FIREARMS

I recently toured Staccato, a Texas' 31st district-based firearm manufacturer. I walked through their firearm and ammunition manufacturing facilities, spoke with their employees (many of whom are veterans), and toured their progress on the Staccato Ranch. As a strong Second Amendment supporter, I'm proud to have this freedom-loving patriotic company in Texas' 31st district.

CELEBRATING LOCAL BUSINESS

Being in Burnet for their annual Chamber of Commerce awards to honor local leaders and small businesses was great. Small businesses are the backbone of our Central Texas community. I'm committed to conservative policies that reduce the regulatory burden, cut taxes, and get the government out of the way so small businesses can thrive. Congratulations to all of the winners!

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Do you think border security is national security?
Yes
No

ROUND ROCK PRAYER BREAKFAST

I attended the Round Rock Mayor's Prayer Breakfast with over one hundred local officials, community leaders, and residents. Prayer is powerful, and our country needs it during these tumultuous times. Together, we prayed for our first responders, educators, veterans, and healthcare workers. It was a great morning of fellowship and a shining example of how blessed we are to live in Central Texas.

As always, thank you for taking the time to stay updated on what's happening in Texas' 31st congressional district.

Representing you and Texas in the United States House is an honor and privilege.

Sincerely,

John R. Carter
