We recently completed five case studies from around the state to illustrate the various paths to Farm to School programming. Learn more about how this elementary school has embraced Farm to School in their community.
Resources We're Using
Peppers are native to Central and South America, and as explorers from Portugal and Spain made their way to the Americas, they helped spread peppers to worldwide, including the US. Find ready-to-go materials for the classroom, cafeteria, and community that promotes the use of local, seasonal Vermont foods.

An engaging curriculum using a mathematical lens to take children on an education-filled exploration of the garden. Its 36 activities and extension ideas hone math skills and promote inquiry, language arts, and nutrition.
School Leaders Campaign:
Nourished and Ready to Learn!
We're excited to announce the launch of this collaborative Network effort to elevate district and supervisory leaders' understanding and support for Farm to School. Our first training webinar is Tuesday, September 24, 3:00-4:00pm . You'll get access to the campaign toolkit, case studies, and informational handouts.
Universal Meals Re-Enrollment
Enroll all eligible students in the free/reduced price meal program to feed all the hungry children in your school, improve their nutrition and maximize your reimbursement dollars.

Vermont Dairy in the Classroom
apply today — spaces limited

A hands-on, inquiry based program for Vermont teachers and students, grades PK-6. It includes learner-centered activities and a field trip to a local dairy farm.
Target Field Trip Grants
applications due 10/1

Target stores award field trip grants to K-12 schools nationwide. Each grant is valued at $700.
Annie's Grants for Gardens
applications due 11/1

Annie's is helping k-12 schools fund the creation of edible school gardens across the US.
The Vermont Farm to School Network is a statewide network engaging students and school communities in a local food and farm culture that nurtures children's health, cultivates viable farms, and builds vibrant communities.
