Via was selected as one of 15 statewide providers to participate in the Pennsylvania Provider Transformation Regional Collaborative after a three-day transformation training held last summer.
The Collaborative’s goal is to help transform facility-based work models to competitive integrated employment models. Competitive integrated employment (CIE) is full-time or part-time work at minimum wage or higher, with wages and benefits like those without disabilities performing the same work, and fully integrated with coworkers without disabilities.
During this collaborative, Lisa Walkiewicz, President and CEO; Denise Pioli, Vice President of Services; Jennifer McCary, Clinical Director; and Cortney Lakis, Director of Employment Services worked with a national expert and other community employment providers in northeast PA.
Via has offered competitive integrated employment services since the 1980s. Through this collaborative, Via staff were able to offer their perspectives and experiences to other providers who are starting on the journey, as well as discuss and refine best practices.
