St. Luke's Health and Wellness Week at Via's Teen Summer Experience

Recently, St. Luke’s University Health Network sponsored a Health and Wellness Week at Via’s Teen Summer Experience. Not only did they provide a generous $7,500 sponsorship, but they also provided exciting educational programming. One of these activities was a visit to the St. Luke’s-Rodale Institute Organic Farm where Teen Summer participants learned about organic agriculture and how produce is grown. Later that week, the teens visited St. Luke’s Fitness and Sports Performance Center where they learned about healthy living from Coach Mike and his team while participating in a variety of fun physical activities.
Check out our latest TikTok’s to see them in action. Thanks again, St. Luke’s, for your great partnership. We very much appreciate it.
Via Employee Forum
At Via, we’re not only dedicated to improving the lives of people with disabilities, but also the lives of our employees. Last week we held an employee forum where everyone was encouraged to share their views. The best part was that this was the first time we saw each other in-person as a group since the pandemic began.

Via Thrift Store Closing
The retail market has changed with many retailers closing their “brick and mortar” stores and converting to selling their products online. Over the last few years, Via has continuously evaluated its Thrift Store operations. We closed our Nazareth store at the beginning of the pandemic in June 2020. We found a buyer for our Thrift Store property in Fountain Hill and will be closing the store on August 31, 2021.

During the month of August, Via will hold a store closing sale. All merchandise will be discounted throughout the month. Everything must go, including fixtures. Frequent Shopper Cards will no longer be stamped and full Frequent Shopper Cards can be redeemed through August 7, 2021. All vouchers and gift certificates will have no value after August 7.

Via will continue to sell new clothing, housewares and more online through PoshMark, eBay and Facebook Marketplace to support our services. Follow us on:

Reuniting with Friends
Via’s Community Connections participants have been taking advantage of the beautiful summer weather we’ve been having by getting outdoors for some fun activities! Our staff members have been setting up various outdoor activities for them to do including tie-dyeing, karaoke, and games like Uno, bingo and basketball! Our participants loved getting back in the community and seeing their friends again.

Part of Via’s mission is to ensure that people reach their full potential through enriching community lives. Community Connections provides participants with opportunities to fulfill this mission. Click here to learn more.
