Women's History and Gender Equity Month

Dear Colleagues,

As we celebrate Women’s History and Gender Equity Month, I am pleased to invite you to attend our annual Danforth Campus Gender Equity Town Hall on March 6 and Dr. Melanie Ho’s keynote presentation on March 26. These events will highlight both progress and continuing challenges for achieving gender equity at WashU and in other workplaces. Details on both events are available below.

Over two years ago, Provost Wendland and I made a commitment to enhancing policies and support for teaching, research and practice faculty. Our current TRP Faculty Fellow, Seema Dahlheimer, has done an incredible job advocating for TRP faculty, including through developing a webpage with valuable resources. As Seema transitions out of her role this summer, we are seeking a new Faculty Fellow to continue this important work. I invite eligible faculty to apply for this position by March 18.

During this time of the year, many departments and schools are in the thick of faculty recruitment season. Our team has developed resources to assist with recruitment, including information on St. Louis and a new BIPOC Faculty Resource Guide that features local businesses and services. These items are available on our site and by contacting us at [email protected]. New resources are also available to support partner hiring for local jobs, so please contact our team with any questions.

Best wishes for the upcoming month and Spring Break!

Kia Caldwell

—Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and Diversity
