Awarded Scenic Star

Scenic Houston honored the Texas Medical Center (TMC) and the Helix Park Project on May 24, 2023 at its Annual Scenic Star Reception. The TMC Helix Park was recognized for leading world-changing healthcare and medical research through the innovative design and thoughtfully planned Helix Park project.

Council Member Carolyn Evans-Chabbazz (District D) shared accolades and congratulatory remarks on behalf of the City Council and Mayor Sylvester Turner and Bill McKeon, TMC President & CEO accepted the award on behalf of the entire TMC & project team. Read more

Scenic Houston Presents

SRG 3.0 Update

Earlier this month, Executive Director, Andrea French and Board member, Muhammad Ali, shared updates and details at the Annual Management District meeting hosted by the Near Northside Management District on the development of Scenic Houston's SRG 3.0. Work on the pedestrian, travel way and shared realms continues with a first draft expected in late June.

May is Mental Health Month Streetscapes & Wellness

In honor of Mental Health month, we are revisiting our article on The Science of Streetscapes & Wellness. Studies have shown that access to nature, such as parks and landscaped spaces can reduce stress and depression while helping residents and visitors recover from mental fatigue.

Honoring the Life of Carroll Shaddock

Scenic Houston and Scenic Texas leaders joined the Shaddock family on May 10 in Austin, Texas in celebration of the late Carroll Shaddock. Special thanks to Texas Senator John Whitmire (TX-15) for presenting a proclamation in honor of Carroll's life and legacy.
