What is Houston Capable of? A closer look at the SRG 3.0 and what it means for our city.

Houston’s landscape is evolving, and at Scenic Houston, we’re committed to guiding this transformation with tools that promote a more beautiful, sustainable, and people-friendly environment.

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of SRG 3.0 — the latest version of our Streetscape Resource Guide, which builds upon years of community insights, urban planning expertise, and a shared vision for Houston’s future.

We called, you answered!

In the Spring, TxDOT proposed to adopt over 60 statewide billboard rules that would disrupt the scenic beauty of our beloved city and state.

Thanks to all those who answered our call to take action by sending a message of protest directly to TxDOT.

As a result, city authority over whether, where, and how billboard relocations occur remains 100% intact.

In addition, current requirements for billboard locations outside cities remains unchanged from current regulations. Together, we did it!

We are pleased to announce the SRG 3.0 is now available to download on the Scenic Houston Website. We are grateful for all who contributed to make this possible. It took many hours to create and finalize this one-of-a-kind streetscape resource guide.

Get to know Tim Williamson

Tim Williamson is the Executive Managing Director of Cadence Bank and a longtime member of the Scenic Houston Board. He joined the board because of his desire to help secure a green Houston free of visual pollution from billboards and illegal signage. He is enthusiastic about introducing the next generation of Houstonians to the Scenic Houston mission of championing the livability and beauty of public spaces in our growing and diverse community.
