Our Vision for What’s Next For Houston

Houstonians welcomed a new Mayor, a new Controller and six new Council Members to City Hall earlier this year and it’s already been a whirlwind of energy and activity. We have appreciated weekly visits with City Council members and the opportunity to educate and engage with many new faces on the highlights of our work and mission. As we champion the livability and visual quality of the public spaces in our community, we want to share our wishlist for the future of Houston!

Scenic Houston Supports Columbia Tap Trail Lighting Project

The Columbia Tap Trail is the glue that connects East Downtown and Houston’s southeastern neighborhoods. We are honored to support funding for this critical community project to install pedestrian lighting along the Columbia Tap Trail. This new lighting adds a critical public safety element necessary for ensuring continued economic growth in this historically under-resourced area of Houston.

Scenic Houston Welcomes new

Program & Operations Manager

We are delighted to announce Sam Farley as the new Program & Operations Manager for Scenic Houston. Sam is a lifelong resident of Houston, who champions the city’s innovation, diversity, and beauty. It is what drew to her Scenic Houston's mission and vision for the future of Houston.

She has worked for non-profits and small to mid-sized businesses since graduating in 2021 from the University of Houston. A graphic designer by trade, Sam has transitioned into management roles due to her love of organization, growth, and leadership, and hopes to expand Scenic Houston’s messaging and reach in the coming years. In her free time, Sam is a designer for weddings, a painter, and a frequent visitor of Houston’s many walking trails.
