When All the World Was Young is (one of) my favorite paintings in the Museum.
I first saw this painting when I went to the museum with a friend and our families to view the Howard Pyle collection. I was aware of and love his paintings, especially the pirate themes. I had not seen this painting before this visit, and I just stopped and stared at it. The beauty of the painting, it's color and composition, is enough to marvel at. But when you look at the people, and see her hesitation, and his persistence and the emotion between the two figures, it's absolutely amazing.
