Send in your top choices (by number or keywords), and we’ll sing all the ones we can during August church services.

To submit your hymns:

  • Pick up a form at the church and bring it by the office, or put it in the alms basin on Sunday morning
  • Submit online at bit.ly/youpickem
  • Phone/email the church office
  • Monday, July 27th is the last day to submit your hymns!

Can't wait to sing all your favorites!

Assiting with Children's Chapel

Would you be willing to sign up to occasionally help assist in the Children's Chapel on Sunday mornings? This is a brief period mid-service when some of the youngest at St. John's step out to discuss the day's liturgy in kid-friendly language, along with a brief activity.

The Sunday sign-up document is attached here, along with contact information for those already serving in case you have questions. Thank you for supporting the young families of St. John's!

Back to School Means Back to the Backpack Ministry!

To alleviate food scarcity for children who experience food insecurity over the weekend, St. John's backpack ministry provides a weekly, take-home bag of groceries for children at area schools.

Each week, we need 160 breakfasts, 320 main courses, 320 snacks, 80 cans of vegetables, and 80 cups/containers/pouches of fruit. That's a lot. But because of you, we can purchase, pack, and deliver food to feed 80 children each week who might not have enough to eat over the weekend.

Help Us Stay Connected!

The Realm information platform helps our parish stay connected! Ensuring all your information on Realm is correct and up-to-date is crucial. Thr information on your entry is key to successfully communicating with you!

Please help us create more complete records in Realm. If you are an active user, please check all your information, especially your date of birth, for accuracy. This helps us include you in announcements and events intended for specific age ranges. AND it lets us send you a birthday card every year!

If your entry is missing your birthdate--a complete date includes the year--you will soon be receiving an email from Vickie. You can update this information yourself in the Realm software.

Please feel free to reach out to Vickie (vickie@stjohnsdecatur.org) with any questions. Thank you!
