Our 2027 Stewardship Campaign

Plenty Good Room is our stewardship theme this year, inviting us to look at our lives—and at the life of St. John’s—through the lens of God’s abundance.

We invite you to prayerfully consider your pledge for 2027. St. John's goal is 100% participation. We are asking every household to participate by making a pledge of any size. Each pledge matters from all who call St. John's their church home.

Pledges can be made online, by hand delivery, or by mail. Thank you for your gifts of time, talent, and treasure supporting St. John's now and in the future!

Help with Weekend Backpacks

The Backpack Ministry needs some help!

Each week, the people of St. John's purchase, pack, and deliver take-home bags of groceries to help alleviate weekend food insecurity for children in need. This is a weekly ministry with small time commitments and flexible schedules for each step. Take a look at the sign-up to see where you can lend a hand. Many spots for October are open!

Common Ground Community Garden

The Swamp Sunflowers are a sight to see right now, but you have to crane your neck because they are way up high! Take a look under the informational sign at the stunning Aromatic Asters that are also blooming. (And read the sign, too!) The Climbing Carolina Aster is gearing up to be a stunning presence. These asters and sunflowers are surprisingly in the same plant family (Asteraceae) and are a feast for the eyes and good fall nutrition for the bees, butterflies, and other insects. Tip for nurturing the pollinators during the fall season: Plant native asters, not hot house chrysanthemums. Asters have way more nectar than mums, and they bloom longer and later!

In case you missed it in the "Mark Your Calendar" section above, our fall cleanup day in the garden is November 7, starting at 9:00 am.

Altar Flower Dedications

Altar Flowers are given to the glory of God and in memory, thanksgiving, or celebration for people or events important to that day's flower donor. One dedication per Sunday is accepted; flower donations are $75. Please send the completed form with payment to the church office. Contact the office with questions.

Available dates: October 25, November 26, 29,

December 20, 27, January 3, 10, 17, 24, 31.
