The Season of Lent at St. John's | |
|
For the first week of the Lenten Series, our topic is The Apostles' Creed and Our Identity as Baptized Christians. As we prepare to baptize two babies at the Easter Vigil and renew our own baptismal vows, we'll dedicate our Lenten Wednesdays to exploring the core commitments of the Baptismal Covenant. Through scripture, discussion, and hands-on activities, we'll deepen our understanding of what it means to live out our baptismal daily life.

Welcome to Our New Intern!
My name is William Lewis. I am originally from Tennessee, but I've called Cullman home for almost four years now. I was raised Baptist and found the Episcopal Church during seminary. I started parish discernment in August 2023 and completed my MDiv in 2024. My spouse, Catherine, and I are expecting our first child this fall! I'm very excited to serve my internship at St. John's and look forward to worshipping with you!

Scottsboro Boys Pilgrimage
The fight for civil rights began in this state much earlier than most folks think. Many people are unaware of the true story of the Scottsboro Boys, a case that exposes deep injustices in our history and challenges us to recognize injustice today. We invite you to join this pilgrimage—not just to learn, but to open our eyes and hearts to the ongoing struggle for justice.
The procession is approximately 1.5 miles starting at the Scottsboro Boys Museum.
