This Evening!

BURNING OF THE GREENS

WITH POTLUCK SUPPER AND EVENING PRAYER

Tuesday, January 6 at 6:00 PM

Peebles’ Farm

25179 North Street, Mooresville, AL 35649

This evening's weather forecast is perfect for Burning of the Greens: no rain and 60 degrees! See you there!

Bring your dried-up Christmas greens, a dish to share, your favorite beverage(s), and a chair and gather for our annual Burning of the Greens! We’ll celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany by having a bonfire, saying Evening Prayer, eating yummy food, and just generally spending some time together.

Our 2026 Stewardship Campaign

We are grateful for the many and ever-growing number of pledges given toward this year’s campaign! Each pledge amount matters from all who call St. John's their church home.

All pledges received so far have been acknowledged with a thank-you note. If you have pledged and not received a note, please contact Vickie, 256.353.9615.

Pledges can be made online, by hand delivery, or by mail. Thank you for your gifts of time, talent, and treasure supporting St. John's now and in the future!

JANUARY SUPPLY DRIVE: THE ENRICHMENT CENTER

“We are walking with students through seasons of struggle.”

That’s what our partners, therapists at The Enrichment Center, do every day. However, therapy with young people in a school-based setting sometimes requires tools, resources, and items beyond what can be budgeted any given year. With a new wish list available, we’re asking that you take a look and consider which items you can donate to The Enrichment Center. We’ll be collecting items throughout the month of January, and you can place items in the collection boxes outside of the office and in the narthex. Please contact Sam if you have any questions!

Common Ground Community Garden

"While many nonnative flowers provide high-quality nectar and pollen to bees (and some are larval hosts to native insects), native flowers more often have specific ecological relationships with specialist bees and larval stages of moths and butterflies. Including native flowers in landscaping and pollinator plantings helps support these native insect populations upon which humans rely."

Good information from the Alabama Cooperative Extension Service. Read more about specific natives that you can plant.
