Dear Viking Families,

Our St. Veronica School is proud to be rooted in the virtues of our Catholic faith! Over the last 3 years we have followed the Virtues in Practice program created by the Dominican Sisters of Nashville, TN. Each year we have focused on the cardinal virtues of our Catholic teachings - faith, hope and charity. Yesterday at Mass, we began learning about this year’s cardinal virtue, faith.

Our 8th graders shared a beautiful presentation on the virtue of faith during Mass. They demonstrated ways to live out our faith with others in our school, at home and in our community. These are reminders of the blessings in our lives that should be cherished and appreciated.

Today, students began their fall iReady Diagnostic Assessments. This fall assessment is used to gain a better understanding of students' current strengths in both math and reading.  The data will be used within our school team to meet the needs of our students and shared with parents in October.

God bless,

Stephanie Woodall, Principal

Uniform Update

With the first few weeks of our school year underway, we have had a chance to connect with our uniform and spirit wear vendors for several updates. Schoolbelles and U-Sports continue to fulfill orders on a 6 week timeline. The beginning of the year delay has resulted in several families purchasing alternative skirts and outerwear to start the year. There has been some leniency with uniform items to start the year. Starting November 1, all students must be in approved uniform attire. Please note that the plaids and look-a-like skirts on Amazon, Lands End, ect. are not the same approved plaid that we receive from Schoolbelles. Only items from Schoolbelles and U-Sports are approved uniform items.

Meet the Teacher Night is September 9

All parents with students in grades 1-8 are invited to join us for Meet the Teacher, Monday, September 9, beginning at 6:30PM. We will meet briefly in the church before dispersing into the classrooms to meet with your child’s grade level teams. There will be 3 sessions to accommodate families with multiple students.

Confirmation Parent Meeting Date CHANGED: A Message from the Faith Formation Office

It has come to our attention that the original date for the parent meeting conflicts with SA/SEAS Open House and, with the changing of our parish calendar, it looks like we've had some confusion on the dates. Let's plan to meet on Tuesday, September 17 at St. Andrew Church at 6:30PM. Thanks and we can't wait to see everyone!

Picture Day is September 24

Students may dress out of uniform. All attire must be respectful of the school environment. Shorts, dresses, and skirts must be of appropriate length. Leggings are considered undergarments and must be covered by tunic length tops. Order forms will be sent home the week of September 16, or you may order and prepay here.

EdChoice Acceptance Forms

If you have received multiple EdChoice Acceptance Forms from the state and have already turned one in to the school office, you can disregard the duplicates. Notifications and reminders have been given if your child's Acceptance Form has not been received in the school office.

Annual Income Form

St. Veronica School collects the annual Family Income Form as required by the state. This is not the same as the Ohio EdChoice Income Verification. This Family Income Form is used to support our non-public funding for the school year. We are required to collect this form from 100% of our families at St. Veronica School. A copy of this form was sent home with the youngest student in every K-8 family last week. If you have not received this form, please contact the school office.

2023-2024 Yearbooks Are Here!

Yearbooks were sent home this week to families who ordered in the spring. If you forgot to order one, you are in luck - we have just a few left! Send $20 in an envelope with child's name to the school office.

Music News

We are excited for another incredible year of music here at St. Veronica! Registrations for Vocal Ensemble and Advanced Band are now open to students in grades 5-8. Please fill out the forms (Vocal Ensemble | Advanced Band) and return to the office by Friday, September 6. Vocal Ensemble rehearsals begin on Monday, Sept. 9 and Advanced Band rehearsals begin on Tuesday, Sept. 10. Questions? Contact Mr. Gardner (agardner@stveronica.org) **NEW THIS YEAR** Registration fees for both VE and Advanced Band will be collected through your FACTS account. You will no longer need to send in a check to school to pay these registration fees.

The 2024 St. Veronica Walk-a-Thon Starts Friday, September 6!

The Walk-a-Thon is our largest, and most critical fundraiser of the year- providing the

school with the necessary funds to provide fantastic experiences for our students,

including new Chromebooks, outdoor equipment, and additional technology tools and

resources. We are hoping to hit our school goal of $40,000 raised by the completion of

the Walk-a-Thon.

Just like last year, we will utilize www.mybooster.com to track donations and progress

toward class and individual goals. The link to register and enter donations will become

active on Friday, September 6! Talk to your family, friends, neighbors, and local

businesses and let them know that any donation helps, and donating takes 2 minutes or

less through the website. While the website accepts major credit cards and Apple Pay,

we also accept checks and cash in an envelope with your student's name on it, which is

accepted at the school reception.

We are also still accepting corporate sponsors for this year's event! If you are interested

in getting publicity for your business let us know! With each sponsorship, your

company's name will be prominently featured on the MyBooster.com website, the

Walk-a-Thon t-Shirt, as well as the digital sign in front of the school.

We will send out the welcome note on Friday, September 6th in your student's folder with

answers to your FAQs, instructions on registration, donations, key dates, and prizes!
