Your Financial Support

As we approach the sixth anniversary of our opening, we are grateful for your steadfast support. We hope we’ve been able to add value to your household and that your life has been enriched in some way by our presence--either just by casual use of our aquatics area, through improvement of your health by using our pools or grounds for fitness, through attendance at our social events and the development of new friendships, or just satisfaction in knowing that your financial support plays a role in sustaining a vibrant community hub “just down the road.” 

Since January 2024, we’ve added 23 new member households and continue to thrive. We are grateful for our dedicated volunteers, whose service to our organization allows us to keep our costs low. In the past 18 months, we’ve taken on a number of projects that have enhanced the overall experience of our members, keeping our mission at the forefront of all we do–to impact the community for good by providing a place to gather, enrich, and serve. 

In January 2025, we celebrated the grand opening of The Hub–our amazing new placescape that has transformed our pickleball courts into a full recreation facility, complete with a synthetic turf pickleball court, a giant chess set, a shady tiki, The Quick Six putt-putt, bocce/cornhole courts. Additionally, our four pickleball courts are now lit with a Tweener Lighting System, allowing night play in the “in season” cooler months and year round. 

A significant in-kind gift from the Robbie and Lauren Hubbard family, owners of South Florida Turf Solutions, inspired a "dream" plan, and generous donations from 30+ individuals (giving from $250 - $5,000) allowed us to move the project forward. Their names are commemorated on a sign at The Hub–check it out next time you visit! 

Years in the planning, we also installed solar lighting to illuminate the areas around The Hub, paths, and the parking lot–allowing for safer movement after the sun has set. We also replaced deteriorating steel fencing around the pool areas with an aluminum product, which will have a much longer lifespan than what was previously there. New “pop out” park greenspace on the east and south sides of the pool now give an area for patrons to find natural shade off the (typically) blazing hot pool deck. The dog park was also refurbished with new fencing, which was original to the grounds. Another significant project that was completed in early 2024 was the repair of leaks in the infrastructure, and complete resurfacing, of The Big Pool.

We continue to work diligently to keep the grounds maintained to a high standard–whether it’s our regular landscaping, pool maintenance, janitorial, scheduled annual pressure-washing andmulching, or attention to all the other little details to keep a manicured appearance for our guests. Our goal is to maintain the features we have to a high standard and carefully consider future improvements. 

As we look to the future, our biggest area of anticipated expense remains around our pools and pool systems. We plan to continue saving for major equipment repair/replacement expenses in that area. Given the number of recent major repairs and additions, we are not planning to undertake any new capital projects in 2025 or 2026. 

Our Board takes our fiduciary duty seriously. Our latest 990 filing can always be viewed on the IRS website or at Candid/Guidestar, where we maintain a Gold Badge of Transparency.

Gather

How can we benefit our community by sharing the blessings of our grounds & facilities?

On the non-profit partnership and youth athletics side, we provided use of our pools to Operation 300 (serving Gold Star Families) for camp weekends, saw our basketball court used for practice by multiple non-profit leagues and schools, and made our clubhouse facility available for association meetings and continuing education. We also continue to fund scholarship swim lessons through Pat Toner’s H2O Kids for children with disabilities and families with foster children or financial need–since 2019, helping offset the costs of lessons for more than 100 children.

The VCP also served as a hub for events open to all, with the goal of strengthening the bonds of community. A few of those were our Hub Grand Opening Celebration, Inaugural Pickleball Classic, Easter Egg Hunt & Dog Parade, Fall Vendor & Craft Fair, Vintage Car Expo, and regular food truck nights.  

Enrich

How can we enrich our community through programming?

We’ve welcomed an array of fitness and sports instructors to the grounds–hosting yoga and fitness classes, tennis & pickleball clinics, and continuing our water aerobics and rusty joints classes, led by our amazing volunteers. Our pickleball league practices and competes in local tournaments, and is always happy to introduce the sport to newcomers on any given morning during open play! Our clubhouse has hosted countless art classes through our partnership with Palm City Art Associates, and we continue to add new opportunities to our calendar on a regular basis. 

Eager for as many as possible to learn the life-saving skills of CPR and first aid, the VCP offered sessions for our members and non-profit partners–allowing over 30 participants to attain those skills with no financial barrier. Our beautiful grounds have also served as a home base for art and sports camps for youth, and we look forward with anticipation to hosting a third year of Camp VCP during the Summer of 2025.

Serve

How can we serve the community through volunteerism?

In March 2025, we hosted a Volunteer Appreciation Banquet in appreciation of 50+ regular volunteers who are the heart of our organization, recording more than 4,000 volunteer hours last year. This key team of volunteers serves as greeters–manning our front check-in desk during operating hours; grounds upkeep–mowing the north grounds and tackling a long list of maintenance tasks and projects; ongoing process improvement, new member onboarding, and volunteer scheduling; and operations and management–accounting, compliance, marketing, fundraising, events, and more! It is because of these committed volunteers and the leadership of our dedicated Board of Directors that we’ve been able to develop into a thriving organization over the last six years.

Whether you’re a Founding Member, a new member, a regular volunteer, or a family or individual who visits rarely but is proud of what we’ve built together in service to our community–we are thankful for your steadfast support of our organization and endeavors!
