Memorial Park Rock Wall Work!

The Town’s Landscape crew has been out in the park this week getting the front area ready for some rock work. This year’s budget included funding to continue the rock wall along the front of the park to the South side of the park. Following this preparation of the area, rock work will follow and start in the next couple of weeks (depending on weather). Can’t wait to see this project when it’s finished!

We are all tree lovers here in Blowing Rock, especially those natives like the Rhododendron (aka Mountain Laurel) pictured. To maintain their beauty and protect them from potential worksite damage, our crews are relocating them to the area surrounding Broyhill Lake.

Town Council Meeting: April 11th

Please Note: The Town Council has decided to postpone discussion of the Proposed Paid Parking Program and associated public hearing on the parking code amendment until a later date and the item has been removed from the April 11th Town Council Meeting agenda.

Details of the proposal were presented at the March 28th Town of Blowing Rock Paid Parking Community meeting with a Q & A portion of the meeting where citizens asked questions and gave vital feedback. The program originally planned for Town Council consideration at the April 11th Regular Town Council Meeting, will now be reviewed further and discussed at a to-be determined later date.

When details of when the program will be further considered are known, the information will be provided to the public via website posting, emailed newsletter or FaceBook post.
