Plan the Next Ten Years

The Comprehensive Plan, which was last updated in 2014, contains a framework of goals, policies, and action strategies to guide future decision-making and actions in Blowing Rock. An Open House was held last month- if you missed it, you can see the presentation and details here. An input survey is also still available. The plan background, process, and progress is fully detailed on an easy-to-use website!

PartF Memorial Park Restrooms

The proposed Memorial Park restroom renovation bid was awarded to VPC Builders at the July 11, 2023 regular Town Council Meeting. The project is scheduled to move forward in the coming weeks. The remainder of the Memorial Park project is under review for any cost minimizing alternatives/ scope options.

AMI Meters Update

The Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) equipped water meter installations are starting soon. Homeowners will begin seeing public works and contractor crews working in designated areas to get new meters and registers installed soon. Installation across Town is expected to take up to a year for full service throughout the town. This new technology will provide for data tracking of water usage in between billings to better pinpoint and identify the timing of water leaks or other related issues.

Now that hedges along town streets have had time to grow this year, please have your bushes and hedges cut back to at least 2 feet inside the edges of the street pavement. This will provide sufficient clearances for vehicles traveling town streets and help prevent possible accidents due to limited visibility from roadside tree overgrowth.

Thank you for assisting the Town in maintaining safe, unobstructed streets and roadways.

Blowing Rock Post Office Parking

As a reminder: Post Office parking is not public Town parking. The Post Office parking area is privately owned by the Post Office. As a courtesy, we ask that citizens and visitors kindly only park at the Post Office to do business at the Post Office.
