Friday is Arbor Day!

Earlier this week, Public Works took advantage of the dry weather to get a jump start on its Arbor Day activities, which included planting new trees in the Buffalo Grove Nature Preserve. Forestry staff will also be visiting local elementary school classes to give out tree saplings for students' own homes, to help ensure Buffalo Grove maintains its Tree City USA status. The Village was recently recognized as a 2021 Tree City USA recipient, on behalf of the Arbor Day Foundation. This distinction is given to municipalities that are committed to the planting, nurturing and celebration of trees - all attributes that the Village prides itself in!
