Holiday News & Updates

December 2024

Happy Holidays from everyone working to make Highland Village great! We hope this season finds you full of happiness, warmth, and gratitude. This issue features the many fun family events we have planned and ways for us to come together and make a difference this holiday season. We wish you all a merry Christmas and a safe and joyous time with your family.

Join the Highland Village Fire Department for the Stuff-a-Cruiser Toy Drive-Thru on Saturday, December 7 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Santa's elves are turning the station into Santa's wonderland for you to easily drive thru and drop off a toy. Wave at Santa and all his elves (firefighters) as you help bring holiday cheer to local children in need.

Highland Village Public Safety and special guests will be at the Highland Village Walmart and Walgreens from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through December 15. If you would like to help at a drop box location or make a cash donation, contact Officer Ben at bmckelvey@highlandvillage.org

Santa Tracker and Routes

Santa Claus is coming to town! Beginning Sunday, December 15 through Friday, December 20, Santa will be riding through the neighborhoods of Highland Village on the Fire Engine. Routes will begin at approximately 6 p.m. and finish up around 8:30 p.m. each evening. Nightly route information will be published on the Fire Department Facebook site and City of Highland Village website calendar. Sirens, lights, and Christmas music will be a good indication that Santa is on your street. We ask that, if at all possible, you park vehicles in the driveway to help the Engine maneuver down your street. This is especially helpful if you live on a cul-de-sac.

Holiday Trash Schedule and Closings

Our administration offices, including The Robert & Lee DuVall Center, are closed on 12/25, 12/26, and 1/1. First responders are still on call.

Wednesday collection will be on Thursday, Thursday collection on Friday, Friday collections will be on Saturday. For scheduling questions, contact Republic Services at (972) 316-0789 or highlandvillage@republicservices.com.
