Interfaith Scripture Study in Derry, and on Television
The Rev. Ray Bonin, Rector of the Church of the Transfiguration in Derry, shares this update about their collaboration with the Etz Hayim synagogue for regular scripture study, which is now being broadcast!
Bonin says, "More than eight years ago Rabbi Peter Levi joined Transfiguration's weekly Bible study group. Rabbi Levi is our neighbor and friend at Etz Hayim synagogue. His invaluable contribution has been to offer a Jewish perspective on the Gospel. When the COVID epidemic hit we began to Zoom our Bible study and expanded our study to include an hour of Talmud study and an hour of Bible study. Rabbi Levi suggested we take our show on the road and got in touch with Derry cable TV. We have begun to record a 30-minute segment based on the Gospel of the Sunday. They are available on the Derry Cable website."

Walking in and for the Community in Claremont
Trinity Church in Claremont recently gathered a team together to walk in the Steppin' Up to End Violence 5k to raise money for the Turning Points Network.

"I am proud to say that Trinity Episcopal/Lutheran Spirit Walkers had 13 people on the team and raised $3,145! They had a lot of fun and look forward to doing it again next year. That Trinity Episcopal/Lutheran Church is in the community and that we are a safe place."

Milk With Dignity at St. Andrew’s New London
Church warden Karen Zurheide of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in New London shares this update about a program they are passionate about at their church:
"Did you know that practically all dairy farms of substantial size in the northeast employ migrant workers, mostly from Mexico? These men and women live where they work, and due to their mostly undocumented immigration status, they remain in the shadows, largely invisible to the rest of us who consume the products of their labor. What’s more, in a dirty, dangerous, and demanding environment, they are without the rights and protections afforded other workers..."

Refurbishment at St. Matthews Episcopal Chapel in Sugar Hill
The steeple at St. Matthews Episcopal Chapel will get a complete refurbishment from the cross to the freeze board this month. Bonnd Construction, who is managing the project, is using an 85-foot lift to access the upper section of the steeple for scraping and recoating, and the lower section of the steeple will be shingled with metal tiles. The base of the steeple will be repainted and a new wooden threshold will be installed. In 2019, the chapel foundation was replaced, and the building is now secure for the next hundred years!
The Chapel was established in 1893 and has been in continuous service during the summer months of July & August at 10 a.m. each Sunday with a different clergyperson serving the community, and refreshments shared under the maple tree after the service.

Pilgrimage in the Holy Land - Deadline Extended to August 15
The Episcopal Diocese of Vermont is sponsoring a pilgrimage to the Holy Land and invites those from the Episcopal Dioceses of New Hampshire and Maine to join them! The pilgrimage is to take place November 25 – December 5, 2023 and will be led by The Rev. Dr. Frederick P. Moser and The Rev. Kim Hardy, a priest couple, with local guides, Canon Iyad Qumri and Rami Qumri.
Fred and Kim are experienced pilgrimage leaders and have dreamt of taking a group to the Holy Land since experiencing their journey there on sabbatical in 2009.
