Thank The Children
Last Sunday was a great day in the life of our church. There were 356 people in the sanctuary for the 11:00 a.m. service. That is among the best Sundays we have had in the age of Covid. What made it even better was that there were 81 children between the cradle and 6th grade!
We had 38 children in the preschool choir along with a big crowd in the elementary choir as well. Our children gave leadership to our service, and they did it so well. To have the children lead us in professing our faith with the creed and calling us to prayer was great! They all did a super job! Be sure and thank them when you see them. Let them know how they blessed you. We want them to know that at Vineville their gifts are welcomed and valued. Reese and her team of volunteers do a great job all the time, but days like Sunday revealed how blessed we are. We give thanks for the gifts they share that are part of the formation of our children.
If I were a gambling man, I would wager there will be less than 81 children in the building this Sunday. The tendency is after a big day to take a day off. It would be a great witness to the power of God working through the children if our numbers in worship stayed high this week. It would be a great testimony for us to look back five years from now and say the tide turned that day there were children everywhere. I will be in my place. See you Sunday.

Rise Up Against Hunger
On Wednesday, October 27, we have a great intergenerational opportunity to make a tremendous impact in the lives of hungry people. In about 90 minutes, we will pack over 10,000 meals. This is a high-energy and fun way to do mission work. With it being so close to Halloween, we thought it might be fun to wear costumes while we pack. So, if you are in the spirit, dress up. Remember, if you wear a hat you don’t have to wear a hairnet! Dinner begins at 5:15 p.m., and we will start packing meals at around 6:00 p.m.
Please register for the pizza dinner here. Also, we have to register for the packing here.

Thanking Our Veterans
The Sunday before Veteran’s Day, November 7th, we will take a moment in worship to acknowledge the service of Vineville members in the military. You will want to be in your place for this special recognition.
