Letter from the President & CEO

Dear Members:

Over the next three months, the VMA will be focused on regional MFG Town Halls, member committee meetings, congressional roundtables and the National Manufacturing Summit.  We have also started a  webinar series on the new VMA  member benefits programs and workforce solutions.  This is all aimed at enhancing the VMA member experience.

We also know how challenging it can be to leave the facility for meetings and events.  So, we have reorganized many of our resources to bring them to you through these webinars, virtual meetings and regional events.  This is all designed to make participation easier.

In particular, the MFG Town Halls have taken on a new life.  This year they will be held at the Richmond Raceway, Canon Virginia and Volvo Trucks. In fact, we just finished the Central Virginia MFG Town Hall in partnership with the Richmond Raceway - one of NASCAR's premiere tracks. Dennis Bickmeier, President, RR, gave us a terrific vision of the future of motorsports and RR. RR is a partner that understands the value of creativity and cross-marketing. In fact, our own Virginia Craft Brewers Guild will hold the first event of its kind in the U.S. at RR this weekend before the big

The Honorable Tom Garrett, US Congressman, and  The Honorable Jennifer McClellan, VA Senator, speaking at the Richmond Town Hall Meeting at Richmond Raceway.

All this is to say that the VMA is working hard to improve Virginia manufacturing competiti veness through all of our services and partnerships.  Manufacturing economic optimism is at a 20-year high and we are expecting unprecedented growth over the next few years.  It's an exciting time to be in manufacturing and we hope that our enthusiasm is contagious!

I look forward to seeing you at an upcoming meeting or MFG Town Hall.

Best Wishes,
Brett
