Use of Client Restraints



Nurses are required to follow legislation, standards of practice, regulatory requirements, and workplace policies. When using client restraints, nurses provide care in accordance with the Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses

Documentation is critical when using restraints, and nurses must document according to the Standards for Documentation. For more guidance, please consult the Canadian Nurses Protective Society InfoLAW on Patient Restraints.
