Registration Deadline
NANB will host a virtual AGM via Zoom on Wednesday May 18, 2022 at 9:30 am. This business meeting will highlight the 2021 Annual Report and Auditor's Report (2.5 hrs).

Registration is mandatory to attend. Deadline to register is Friday May 13, 2022.
Space is limited. Priority access to the virtual platform will be given to registered members ahead of observers and students.

NANB Elections
New Directors - Regions 2 & 6
NANB Board and staff would like to welcome Kathy Helpert (acclaimed) as Region 2 Director and Stéphanie Roy as Region 6 Director (acclaimed). No nominations have been received for the Region 4 Director. New Directors bios can be found on the NANB website. All positions are effective June 1, 2022.

Many thanks to outgoing Directors Rosanne Thorne (Region 2), Vicky Doiron (Region 4), Christian Rousselle (Region 6) and Public Director, Pauline Banville-Pérusse for their commitment to regulation of the profession in the public's interest.
National Nursing Week
Join Us in Celebration and Gratitude!
NANB is stepping up to #WeAnswerTheCall and recognizing nurses with this National Nursing Week (May 9-15) by randomly awarding:

Mental Health Support Webinars for Nurses (Free)
In addition, NANB in partnership with ANBLPN is offering nurses an opportunity to participate in two free webinars to support mental health. Sessions will be approximately 1 hour with some time for Q&A at the end.

CCP Learning Module

Have you completed this years learning module?

Completion of a learning module is a mandatory step in your annual CCP and must be completed to renew your license to practice in 2023. This years’ Learning module is Standards for Medication Management. The learning module has three components:

  1. Review The Standards for Medication Management;
  2. watch the webinar; and
  3. complete the quiz.

Completion of the learning module should take about 40 minutes. Visit NANB's website for more information.

NANB receives calls from time to time from nurses who are concerned about loosing their licence because of staffing challenges. Whether you are short staffed, working overtime, or floating to an unfamiliar unit, all these situations can challenge your ability to provide safe, competent, compassionate, and ethical care.

What is a Directive?
NANB recently received questions about the use of a directive. Did you know that NANB has the following resource: What is a Directive?. It provides information on guiding principles and responsibilities of the nurse implementing a directive.
Nursing Education Advisory Committee
Nurse Manager or Nurse Employer
The NANB NEAC (Nursing Education Advisory Committee) is looking for a nurse manager or nurse employer committee member. The purpose of the NEAC is to advise the NANB Board of Directors regarding the standards for nursing education, schools of nursing program review approval status and related outcomes of nursing program reviews.

The ideal candidate would be familiar with the RN Entry-Level Competencies, current and emerging trends in nursing practice, preparedness required of new graduates, and clinical practice settings and preceptorship experiences. Experience in educational programs, curriculum development and/or program approval/accreditation would be an asset.

The terms of the committee is three years, members can be reappointed one time. In general, the committee meets virtually 3-4 times a year for 1-2 hours. Interested candidates can contact [email protected].
Last Call- Opportunity for a Public Member
NANB Board of Directors
The NANB Board of Directors currently has three positions for members of the public. The current opening would benefit from an individual with professional experience in finance, and demonstrates the following:

  • an interest in health and welfare and in health matters generally;
  • previous committee or board experience;
  • time to devote to the role and be knowledgeable about the nursing profession; and
  • volunteer or work experience that demonstrates acting in the public interest.
