Mandatory CCP Learning Module

Have you completed this years learning module?

Completion of a learning module is a mandatory step in your annual CCP and must be completed to renew your license to practice in 2023. This years’ Learning module is Standards for Medication Management. The learning module has three components:

  1. Review The Standards for Medication Management;
  2. watch the webinar; and
  3. complete the quiz.

Completion of the learning module should take about 40 minutes. Visit NANB's website for more information.
New Jurisprudence Module
The purpose of the NANB Jurisprudence Module is to develop awareness and understanding of key legislation and the regulatory framework that govern nursing practice in N.B.
Completion of the jurisprudence module was introduced as a mandatory registration requirement for the 2020 registration renewal.

Since then, the module is a mandatory registration requirement for new applicants.
Comprehension and application of nursing jurisprudence is part of nurses’ accountably towards safe, competent, and ethical nursing practice and professional conduct. The Jurisprudence Study Guide assists applicants in gaining knowledge to successfully complete the Jurisprudence Module and is also meant to serve as a resource for practicing RNs and NPs, employers, other stakeholders, and health care professionals.

For more information, visit the NEW Nursing Jurisprudence section and Jurisprudence Study Guide.
Practice & Education
Answering Your Questions
Every three months the Practice and Education (P&E) department reviews and analyzes your consultations/questions. Analysis of this information allows the P&E team the opportunity to identify nursing practice trends, frequently asked questions and/or concerns. This information guides NANB’s work to create/amend resources such as, guidelines, fact sheets, and case studies to ensure that as an organization we are responsive to your practice needs, as well as promote public protection. This past quarter the P&E found the following:

Telenursing Practice
Virtual care is expanding. While it improves access to care, interacting with the client at a distance can create challenges and impact the nurse’s ability to provide the required nursing care. Even though telenursing changes how nursing practice is conducted, nurses are held to the same accountabilities, as for any other type of nursing care.

Resources to support safe, competent, and ethical telenursing care are available in the Telenursing Toolkit, including the Practice Guideline: Telenursing Practice, an FAQ on Registration Requirements, a framework for establishing the appropriateness of telenursing, a link to the webinar, resources for managing risks, and resources for the public.
