The Visual Arts in Worship Workshop

Friday & Saturday, March 28 & 29

at Presbyterian College (Clinton, SC)

Banners and bulletins and sermons (Oh, my!)

The visual arts bring added value to worship planning and practice, but where and how do you find ways and examples of arts-integrated worship?

In this workshop we will look at your worship service from soup to nuts (or prelude to postlude), including the arts, and offer some direction for worship in your context.

Who should attend? Pastors, Members of your congregation’s Worship Committee, and others interested in religion and the arts.

Who is leading it? Rev. Dr. Lynn Miller Lynn holds the MA in the history of art from the University of Georgia where her thesis (A Pure and Legitimate Use: Vestiges of Calvinist Theology in South Carolina Artists of Huguenot Descent) was probably the first UGA thesis that included John Calvin. Lynn is pastor of the Limestone Presbyterian Church in Gaffney, SC. She is a member of the Advisory Council of the Center for Excellence in Christian Education at Union Presbyterian Seminary/Charlotte, where she coordinates the Faith, Arts, and Creativity Initiative. See more about Lynn at lynnmillercreative.com.
