THE EAGLE AWARD
Each year, at our Child Advocate Appreciation Luncheon, our CEO presents The Eagle Award. This award is given in recognition of an individual, company or group who has made a dramatic impact on the Center. We are thrilled to announce DFW Lexus Dealers as the recipient of this year's award.

One of the most highly anticipated moments of our annual Gala is the raffle drawing for a brand-new Lexus. This year's Gala, we will celebrate an exciting milestone - the 10th anniversary of the Lexus Car Raffle. Each year, DFW Lexus Dealers donate a brand new car for the raffle, and we sell 2,500 tickets for $50 each, to raise a total of $125,000 annually. This long-standing partnership has raised $1.1 Million to support the Center and the children we serve.

Some of the Lexus Dealers have also gotten more deeply involved in supporting the Center. They collect toys for the Holiday Project, and participate in the Adopt-A-Family project.  They also help us promote Teddy Bear Ride among their staff, and have participated in our Healing Hearts Golf Tournament.

CEO Lynne McLean stated, "We are so grateful to the DFW Lexus Dealers for their passionate support of our mission, and their generous contributions that have made such a difference for our children. We simply could not do the work we do without corporate partners, and the DFW Lexus Dealers are an example of the best of the best. It is clear that the DFW Lexus Dealers have a deep and abiding commitment to the betterment of our community as a whole and making the future better for the children we serve is one of the ways they do this. There is no doubt that the commitment and generosity of the DFW Lexus Dealers has changed the lives, and the futures, of hundreds of children. And we are deeply grateful."

AN ADVOCATE TO RELY ON

Our Family Advocacy and Support Services Department is designed to meet the short and long-term needs of children and their non-offending caregivers. We provide clients with a consistent advocate they can rely on to resolve concerns, provide resources in the community, and support as their case proceed through the judicial system.

Recently, our Family Advocates were presented with a hazardous concern in a client’s home. Prior to the child’s outcry of abuse, an appliance malfunction had caused extensive damage to their home that insurance would not cover. The situation surrounding the case caused a financial burden to the family, leaving the them with no way to repair the damage. This posed a safety hazard for the children. In desperation, the mother decided to take a small loan from her 401K to cover the cost of the repairs, but it was not enough to repair everything that was damaged.

With the help of the CACCC staff, the Family Advocate was able to connect with a community resource called Hands and Hammers. They have assisted multiple families in need throughout the county with extensive home repairs. They covered the cost of supplies, tools, and labor. The community agency has been extremely accommodating and responsive during the whole process.
