A NEW CHAPTER

We welcome pastor Rick Aguilar and his wife Laura. Rick comes to us as an appointed Associate Pastor for the express purpose of building a congregational ministry at our South Campus, particularly focused on the growing Hispanic population in South Longview.

Rick is an ordained minister in the Assembly of God Church and comes to the United Methodist Church with recognized credentials and under appointment by Bishop Scott Jones.

We welcome Rick and pray that he and his family are blessed as they join our mission to be A Beacon of Hope for All. Rick will be a participant in both sanctuary services this Sunday. During the Sunday School hour, he and his family will be here for a reception in Cook Foyer. We encourage everyone to make a special effort to meet the Aguilars and bring a gift card to assist them as they settle here in Longview.

Join us in welcoming our new members!

Jim & Connie Duke and Sylvia McClung joined this past Sunday, February 13th at the 10:45 Beacon Service.

The activity director at Summer Meadows handed out the cards on Friday and said “I wanted to let you know how happy you made all of our residents! I wish you could’ve seen their faces light up when they got their card!”

Thanks to all of the kids at Terrific Tuesday and Wednesday Night Live for making the cards and sharing God’s love with others!

Grief Share can help you face these challenges and move forward toward rebuilding your life through the following elements: (1) video seminar with experts; (2) support group discussions with focus and (3) personal studies and reflection (workbook).

Grief Share classes begin Sunday, March 6, 2:00pm-4:00 pm, in Room 302 (New Beginnings classroom). Class will be each Sunday afternoon for 8 weeks. If you are interested in attending, please contact Shirley Lancaster, 913-706-3874, or the church office, to secure a workbook.
