February 3, 2021
As we continue to live into our Emerge 2021 commitment that calls us to deeper discipleship in all areas of our lives, I am excited to announce new names for our worship services. These new names are meant to help streamline communication about our worship gatherings and make it easier to invite others to join with us on Sunday mornings. Beginning Sunday, February 14, we will start referring to our services as follows:

  • Horizon Worship: our contemporary worship service in the Faith Center that gathers at 8:30 AM.
  • Ascension Worship: our traditional worship service in the Sanctuary that gathers at 8:30 AM.
  • Beacon Worship: our combined worship service in the Sanctuary that gathers at 10:45 AM.

While the names of our services are changing, the worship experience in each service is not. These names are simply meant to embody and capture the essence of each of our incredible worship experiences while also giving each service its own unique identity. We are still one church seeking to be a beacon of hope to all of Longview. These new service names now give us an even better way to invite others to join us in that mission.

Be on the lookout for new signs and logos for each service throughout the church. We are excited to continue our Emerge 2021 journey as we move forward down the path of discipleship.

God’s Peace,
Pastor Adrienne

For this role on our A/V team, you’ll be in charge of managing the soundboard in either the Faith Center or the Sanctuary. During the service, you’ll maintain microphone and instrument volume levels and coordinate with the worship and TV team as to their needs. No experience is necessary! If you are willing and able to learn, our incredible A/V team is willing to teach you the ins and outs of this important role. We need you in order to keep growing this vital ministry here at FUMC. Please click the link below to sign up, and you’ll be contacted about when you’d like to start training!
Drew Grooters joined in the Praise Band during worship in the Faith Center last week! If you are a 6th-12th grade student and have talents gifts of singing or playing an instrument, we invite you to join the band.

Can't sing or play? No problem! we have spots on our AV/Tech and F.I.T. teams for you. You can learn to film worship services or be a greeter or usher. Step out into being a disciple by using your gifts.
