The Voice

January 5, 2022

Hey church family, you know what this cold weather makes me want? A nice bowl of warm chili. Lucky for me, that’s what we are having next Wednesday. We are having a chili dinner to kick off Wednesday Night Live for the winter/spring session next Wednesday, January 12th, at 6:00 PM. Our kitchen will supply the drinks, paperware, and fixing and we need you to help us provide the chili. Make your favorite recipe and head on up to the church. We would like to know how many people might be bringing chili, so it would help us out if you could let the church office know if you plan on bringing some. This is an all-ages event to help us kick off the season, so the kids, youth, and adult studies will all start back the week after on January 19th.

If you are the parent of one of our students in the children’s or youth ministry, be on the lookout for info from Jana and Janice. I know they are looking forward to a great semester. If you are interested in our adult study offerings, we will have two options to start the year. I (Pastor David) will be doing a study on spiritual disciplines to help get us ready for the Lenten season. This study is designed to help put some tools in your spiritual toolbox that will hopefully deepen your relationship with God and help you grow in your understanding of Christian discipleship and what that can look like. Pastor Romnie will be leading a study through the book of Joshua as a follow-up to our sermon and study from the fall of Exodus. These studies will take place for the six weeks leading up to Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent.

I hope you make plans to join us for the chili supper next Wednesday and our studies and activities that follow in the coming weeks! We will see you there!

Blessings,

Pastor David

Acolytes - it's time to sign up for Spring 2022 dates!

All children in grades 2-5 are invited to participate as an acolyte during Beacon Worship. Parents, please check your calendars and click here to sign your acolyte(s) up to serve! This will allow us to print their names in the bulletin each Sunday. Email Jana at [email protected] with questions. Let's get the calendar filled through May!

Regular meetings for children ages pre-k through fifth grade - including music, dinner, and other activities - will begin on January 19. The children's evening begins at 6:00 PM with music, followed by dinner and activities ending at 7:30 PM. An average of 45 children join us each week, and volunteers are needed to assist with dinner and activities. We welcome all volunteers, and parents are encouraged to volunteer once a month for WNL. If you'd like to volunteer for one or multiple evenings, click here. This link allows you to select the date and age group you'd like to work with. You can be sure to be blessed in your time spent with our children as you guide them on their faith journeys and build important relationships within our church family!

Join us for an interest meeting for the Alaska Mission Trip on January 9 at 4:00 PM in the Youth wing!
